The African Lads and African Lasses Brigade, Osun State Command, commenced their much-anticipated Divisional Command Camping on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023. Hosted at the picturesque St. John African Church in Iree, Osun State, this event brought together a vibrant community of young individuals eager to serve their community and faith. Under the theme "Serving in a Pervasive Generation," drawn from Philippians 2:11-15, this camping experience was filled with spiritual growth, camaraderie, and skill-building activities. In this comprehensive blog post, we will delve into the highlights and key activities that made this camping event memorable.

Day 1: Arrival (Wednesday, September 6th, 2023) The camp kicked off with the arrival of enthusiastic participants from different parts of Osun State. As the African Lads and African Lasses Brigade converged at St. John African Church, the air was filled with excitement and a sense of purpose. The opening ceremony set the tone for what promised to be an enriching and spiritually uplifting camping experience.

Day 2: Opening Preparations (Thursday, September 7th, 2023) Thursday was dedicated to preparations and orientation for the days ahead. Participants were guided through the camping schedule, rules, and expectations. This provided a solid foundation for the campers to make the most of their time together.

Day 3: Special Parade Honoring Snr. Assistant Brigadier General Isaac Babatunde Ogunwuyi (Friday, September 8th, 2023) A highlight of the camping event was the special parade held in honor of the immediate past chairman, Snr. Assistant Brigadier General Isaac Babatunde Ogunwuyi. This parade was a poignant moment that celebrated his dedication and service to the Brigade. It served as a reminder of the commitment and selflessness that the Brigade instills in its members.

Key Activities:

  1. Band Training: Campers had the opportunity to participate in band training, enhancing their musical skills and teamwork. The Brigade's band plays a crucial role in their activities and public appearances.

  2. Parade Training: Discipline and precision are fundamental to the Brigade's ethos. Campers received comprehensive parade training, honing their marching and presentation skills.

  4. Praise Night: Praise and worship played a central role in the camping experience. Praise Night was an evening of uplifting music and spiritual renewal. It was a time for campers to express their faith through song and dance.


5. Social Night: Amidst the rigorous training and spiritual activities, there was also time for relaxation and socialization. Social Night provided campers with a chance to unwind, bond, and create lasting memories..
