“Osimhen’s Heart is as Big as His Goals”: Turkish Pundit Praises Super Eagles Star for His Humility and Team Spirit

“Osimhen’s Heart is as Big as His Goals”: Turkish Pundit Praises Super Eagles Star for His Humility and Team Spirit

Football expert Emre Bol has showered praises on Victor Osimhen, hailing the Nigerian striker’s humility and selflessness despite his superstar status at Galatasaray.

Osimhen, who became Turkey’s most expensive signing when he joined the club from Napoli in the summer of 2025, stole the spotlight again after netting a hat-trick in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Ajax in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Speaking to Ekol Sports, Bol commended the 26-year-old for showing great respect and camaraderie towards veteran forward Mauro Icardi, emphasizing that Osimhen’s lack of ego and team-first mentality sets him apart in modern football.

“Osimhen still treats Icardi like a brother, like a king. The guy has zero ego,” Bol said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
“You’re the star of the team, the most expensive player, you score constantly. Yet, he remains so modest. You don’t find players like that very often.”

Bol further highlighted an incident during the Ajax match where Osimhen handed over a penalty to teammate Sane, allowing him to score instead of chasing his own personal record.

“He was on the verge of his first Champions League hat-trick, but he gave the ball to Sane. That’s leadership and unity — a player who puts the team above himself,” Bol added.

Osimhen’s brilliant form has extended beyond club football. The Super Eagles striker played a key role in helping Nigeria qualify for the 2026 World Cup playoffs, scoring a hat-trick in their 4–0 demolition of Benin Republic. Nigeria will now face Gabon in a crucial playoff tie in Morocco.

💭 Opinion: The Beautiful Game Still Has Beautiful Souls — and Osimhen is Proof

In an era where ego and showmanship often overshadow teamwork, Victor Osimhen’s humility feels almost revolutionary. Despite his fame, wealth, and global recognition, he continues to play like the same spirited boy from Olusosun who just loves football.

What stands out most is his balance of hunger and humility — a rare combination in the modern game. Osimhen plays to win, but never at the expense of others. His gesture towards Sane may seem small, but in a sport dominated by personal glory, it speaks volumes about his character.

Osimhen’s attitude is also a silent message to young players: you can be great without being arrogant. You can dominate the field and still lift others.

As Galatasaray prepares for their clash against Kocaelispor and Nigeria’s World Cup playoff draws near, one thing is clear — Osimhen is not just Nigeria’s pride, but football’s reminder of what true greatness looks like. 🌟⚽💛❤️
