Timini Egbuson Opens Up on Love: "I’m Tired of Temporary Relationships"

Timini Egbuson Opens Up on Love: "I’m Tired of Temporary Relationships"

Nollywood heartthrob Timini Egbuson has spoken candidly about his struggles with relationships, revealing that he is done with fleeting romances and desires something more meaningful.

In a recent interview with TVC, the award-winning actor expressed his frustration with how modern relationships are shaped by social media and online relationship coaches. According to him, many people are too quick to walk away from relationships, often influenced by unrealistic standards set by internet “love gurus.”

Egbuson admitted that despite his success, loneliness creeps in at times, and he yearns for deeper emotional connections.

"Sometimes, it does get lonely. You have everything, and you understand the power of the energy around your space, so you’re not just going to let anyone in," he shared.

However, what frustrates him most is how temporary modern relationships have become.

"I’m personally tired of temporary connections where you meet someone, get to know them, and then they leave. It gets tiring."

Blaming Social Media for Relationship Failures

Egbuson pointed fingers at social media influencers and relationship coaches, who he believes have contributed to unrealistic expectations in dating.

"We are in a woke generation now where there’s a lot of misinformation about what a perfect relationship should be," he said. "Maybe your man is treating you right, but then you go on TikTok and see a video like ‘Seven Signs He Is Not Your Man.’ If it resonates with your reality even slightly, you dump your relationship."

His remarks highlight a growing concern in today’s dating culture, where social media often dictates how people view their partners and relationships.

Is the "Woke Generation" Ruining Love?

Timini Egbuson's statements spark an important debate: Is modern love too disposable?

In an era of instant gratification, many relationships end prematurely because of high expectations, fear of commitment, or external influences from social media. While it’s true that relationship advice online can be helpful, it can also be misleading.

  • Many influencers share generalized advice that may not apply to every relationship.

  • People are quick to compare their partners to "ideal relationships" online, often forgetting that social media only shows the highlight reel.

  • Breakups happen over minor issues because people think they deserve “better,” without working through challenges.

Final Thoughts

Timini Egbuson’s perspective echoes the sentiments of many young people navigating love in the digital age. While his desire for a lasting connection is relatable, finding genuine love requires patience, understanding, and filtering out unnecessary noise from social media.

The real question remains: Will the modern generation slow down and prioritize real connection, or will love continue to be dictated by viral trends?
