Rivers Angels Coach Tosan Blackson Rallies Fans Ahead of NWFL Super Six Showdown

Rivers Angels Coach Tosan Blackson Rallies Fans Ahead of NWFL Super Six Showdown

Rivers Angels head coach Tosan Blackson has called on the club’s supporters to rally behind the team as they prepare for a fierce NWFL Super Six battle in Ikenne, starting with a high-stakes clash against rivals Bayelsa Queens on Saturday.

With the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title up for grabs, Blackson is urging fans to stay confident and keep the faith.

“The supporters should pray for the team and expect victory. They should be ready to receive the trophy from us in Port Harcourt,” Blackson told BSN Sports.

Rivers Angels, one of Nigeria’s most successful women’s football clubs, are focused on reclaiming their place at the top. But the road won’t be easy—with all six playoff teams being potential champions, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Still, Blackson remains unfazed by the opposition.

“There is nothing new in the drawer. Playing Bayelsa Queens is not new… we have been playing them, and it’s part of the game.”

💬 OPINION: Support, Not Pressure, Is What the Angels Need Now

Coach Blackson’s message hits the right note—this is not just a team effort, it’s a community mission. At a time when women’s football is rising in visibility and competition, support from the stands, the media, and every football-loving Nigerian is critical.

Bayelsa Queens may be known as the Prosperity Girls, but Rivers Angels are aiming to rewrite that prosperity story in Port Harcourt colors. It’s more than just a match—it’s a statement of intent, resilience, and belief in homegrown excellence.

🏆 Let the Super Six roar begin.
