“Nobody Dey Fear You” – Verydarkman Blasts Pastor Ibiyeomie Over Blogger Arrest Threat

“Nobody Dey Fear You” – Verydarkman Blasts Pastor Ibiyeomie Over Blogger Arrest Threat

Controversial activist Verydarkman has taken a bold swipe at Pastor David Ibiyeomie after the clergyman threatened to arrest bloggers reporting negatively about him or his church.

Recall, Ibiyeomie recently declared during a church service that he would no longer tolerate any misrepresentation from bloggers and would not hesitate to “arrest and lock them up”. He stated that he wouldn’t be moved by pleas for mercy once legal action is triggered.

But in a fiery response that’s currently trending, Verydarkman dared the Salvation Ministries founder, accusing him of abusing power and attempting to suppress free speech.

“You travel around the world, have you seen anybody using police to lock up people for speaking online?” he questioned.
“You’re using your influence to command the police in a country where they should be investigating properly. Nobody dey fear you. Who are you that we will fear?”

💬 OPINION: The Danger of Spiritual Power Mixed with Political Muscle

This faceoff is more than just a viral spat—it touches the nerve of a growing concern in Nigeria: religious leaders wielding political influence without accountability. In a country where voices are already stifled by fear and intimidation, it’s worrying when church platforms are used to issue threats, not grace.

Pastors are spiritual guides, not law enforcement agents. If someone misreports or defames, there are legal and civil avenues to pursue justice—not public threats that stoke fear.

The truth is: freedom of expression is a constitutional right, and if we allow spiritual figures to crush dissent with handcuffs, we’re feeding authoritarianism cloaked in religion.

🗣️ Public Reactions Reflect Deep Frustration

The backlash online was swift and sharp:

  • @Abasiono_Ek: “This stupidity got into the church too… to liberate a nation we have to drop respect.”

  • @olumidebravo3: “We have more churches than schools and hospitals… Not until we begin to see the fraud, we shall never be free.”

  • @TVNDEY: “Na scriptures them dey take cover up. These people are worse in character.”

Final Word:
This is not just about one pastor or one activist—this is about the future of speech, truth, and accountability in Nigeria. And it’s high time we asked ourselves who really needs to be feared: those who ask questions or those who silence them?
