Transfer Tension: Ademola Lookman Reportedly Furious as Atalanta Reject Inter Milan’s €45m Bid
Ademola Lookman's much-anticipated move to Inter Milan has hit a frustrating roadblock, with reports emerging that the Atalanta forward is furious over the club’s refusal to accept the latest offer from their Serie A rivals.
According to respected Nigerian journalist Onyebuchi Onokala (Buchi Laba), the Nigerian international is deeply disappointed with Atalanta after they rejected Inter’s €42m + €3m add-ons bid — despite an alleged "gentleman's agreement" from earlier in the year.
🔁 The Transfer Saga So Far
🔁 Inter Milan are keen on signing Lookman after his breakout performances for Atalanta, including a stunning Europa League final hat-trick.
💰 Inter’s €45m total offer was rejected — Atalanta reportedly want €50m upfront plus additional clauses.
😠 Lookman is said to be angry and disillusioned, feeling betrayed after holding off a January 2025 move based on promises made.
“There was a gentleman agreement that if a good offer comes in, they would accept. That’s why he didn’t leave in January,” Buchi Laba revealed on X.
⚽ Lookman Wants Inter, Rejects Other Offers
Sources suggest Lookman is laser-focused on joining the Nerazzurri, reportedly turning down other suitors in order to secure the switch.
The 26-year-old forward sees Inter as the ideal next step in his career, especially with the club competing in the UEFA Champions League and fighting for the Scudetto next season.
🗣️ Opinion: Atalanta Risk Unrest, Inter Must Decide
This saga could get messy. While Atalanta have every right to demand maximum value for their star man, blocking a willing player from a desired move could lead to dressing room tension and a drop in morale.
For Inter, the question is: Will they go the extra €5m to seal the deal, or will they move on?
