Cole Palmer Showers Praise on New Chelsea Duo Delap and Joao Felix

Cole Palmer Showers Praise on New Chelsea Duo Delap and Joao Felix

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has given glowing reviews of his new team-mates, Liam Delap and Joao Felix, following their arrivals at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Both forwards played key roles in helping the Blues lift the FIFA Club World Cup last month. However, they were unable to find the back of the net in Chelsea’s frustrating 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in their Premier League opener on Sunday.

Speaking to NBC Sports, Palmer highlighted the contrasting styles of Felix and Delap while expressing excitement about their potential impact this season.

On Joao Felix, Palmer said:

“We should be winning trophies. Felix is so good, man. I love playing with him. Even in training we just have good chemistry and know where each other is going to be. We knew he was a good player before but to see it in person was really good.”

On Liam Delap, Palmer added:

“I just think he is something different. He is different to Joao and other strikers I have played with. He is more old-school, aggressive, he will run in behind, he is just a handful for defenders and one of the best finishers I have seen as well. Hopefully those two together score some goals between them.”

Opinion

Palmer’s words will no doubt excite Chelsea fans who are eager to see how the attacking trio gels this season. Felix brings the flair, creativity, and unpredictability that can unlock tight defenses, while Delap’s aggression and old-school striker instincts give Chelsea the physical edge they’ve often lacked.

The real challenge, however, lies in turning chemistry on the training ground into consistent Premier League goals. Chelsea have, in recent years, been haunted by misfiring forwards. Palmer’s optimism suggests this new era could be different — but fans will be waiting anxiously for Felix and Delap to open their accounts soon.

If Palmer’s verdict is anything to go by, Chelsea might finally have found a strike partnership capable of bringing back the ruthless edge that defined the club’s glory years.
