Henry Winter Tips Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City for Thrilling Premier League Title Race

Henry Winter Tips Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City for Thrilling Premier League Title Race

Respected British broadcaster Henry Winter has predicted an exhilarating Premier League title race involving Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City this season.

In a post shared on X, Winter praised Arsenal’s transfer business, highlighting the signing of Viktor Gyökeres, who made his debut in the Gunners’ 1-0 victory over Manchester United, and the potential arrival of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, despite Tottenham’s strong interest.

“With Eberechi Eze incoming, and finally a No 9 recruited in Viktor Gyökeres (who still has to get up to speed), this has been a seriously good window for Arsenal,” Winter wrote.

“In quantity of quality, Arsenal now have the squad to sustain a challenge to Liverpool, who rightly remain favourites (talent, leaders, mindset, Salah). Manchester City will push both Arsenal and Liverpool. Could be a great @premierleague race. I’ve backed Liverpool fwiw.”

Opinion

Henry Winter’s assessment feels spot on—and exciting. For years, the Premier League has been billed as the most competitive league in the world, but in truth, Manchester City’s dominance has often made the race predictable. Now, with Liverpool recharged under Arne Slot, Arsenal building a squad full of depth and flair, and Pep Guardiola’s City still a force of nature, the stage is set for one of the fiercest three-way battles in recent memory.

Arsenal’s smart recruitment is particularly worth noting. For a long time, fans have clamoured for a clinical No. 9—now Gyökeres provides that option. Adding Eze, a creative livewire who thrives in tight spaces, could give the Gunners the unpredictability they lacked last season. Suddenly, Arteta has both firepower and creativity in abundance.

Liverpool, however, remain the benchmark of mentality and resilience. Mo Salah continues to be their talisman, while leaders like Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold anchor a squad that looks hungry for more silverware.

And Manchester City? Write them off at your own peril. Even without Rodri for long stretches last season, Guardiola’s men proved they are capable of grinding results. With their full squad fit again, they will undoubtedly chase both Arsenal and Liverpool until the very last day.

The prospect of three giants pushing each other all season long is exactly what makes football irresistible. If Winter is right, this may not just be a title race—it could be a Premier League classic in the making.
