Arteta Confirms Arsenal Departures Ahead of New Season
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that some members of his squad will leave the club before the transfer window closes.
Speaking after the Gunners’ 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in their final pre-season match, Arteta admitted that outgoings are part of the club’s summer plans.
New signing Viktor Gyökeres, who joined from Sporting CP, opened the scoring at the Emirates. Bukayo Saka doubled the lead before the break, while Kai Havertz came off the bench to seal the win.
Gyökeres is one of several arrivals this summer, alongside Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Cristhian Mosquera.
“Let’s see what happens in terms of where the squad is in the next weeks,” Arteta said. “We are actively looking at a few options. As well, there are a few players who have to leave. So, we will see what happens.”
The Gunners begin their Premier League campaign next weekend, with fans eager to see how Arteta integrates his new recruits.
