Galatasaray Claim Victor Osimhen’s Value Has Doubled Amid European Interest

Galatasaray Claim Victor Osimhen’s Value Has Doubled Amid European Interest

Galatasaray SK have declared that the market value of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has doubled following his impressive performances since joining the club.

The club’s vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu, made the statement while addressing the media ahead of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Juventus FC in Turin. According to him, Osimhen could now be worth around €150 million, just months after the Turkish giants activated his €75 million release clause to sign him from SSC Napoli last summer.

“When we bought him, a lot of people said it was a crazy investment. Victor has proved everyone wrong because his value has doubled. We know he’s one of the best strikers in the world, and we’re excited to do big things together,” Kavukcu told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Osimhen has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists in 23 appearances for the Turkish champions. His pace, strength, and clinical finishing have attracted attention from several European heavyweights, including Atlético Madrid, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and FC Bayern Munich.

The Super Eagles star has also enjoyed success against Juventus historically, recording six wins and only two losses in eight matches against the Serie A side, further underlining his reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards.

Opinion: Galatasaray’s claim that Osimhen’s value has doubled may sound ambitious, but his performances provide strong justification. In modern football, elite strikers are among the most valuable assets, and players who consistently deliver goals at the highest level are rare. Osimhen’s combination of athleticism, work rate, and finishing ability places him firmly in that category.

However, valuation in football is often influenced by market dynamics as much as performance. Interest from multiple top clubs naturally drives up perceived worth, but whether any club will meet a €150 million price tag remains to be seen. Regardless, one thing is clear—Osimhen has strengthened his reputation and bargaining power significantly this season.

For Galatasaray, the investment already looks like a masterstroke. For Osimhen, the future appears even brighter, with Europe’s biggest clubs watching closely.
