PSG Provide Injury Update on Ousmane Dembélé Ahead of Champions League Final vs Arsenal

PSG Provide Injury Update on Ousmane Dembélé Ahead of Champions League Final vs Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain have issued a fresh injury update on forward Ousmane Dembélé ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League final clash against Arsenal FC later this month in Budapest.

In an official statement published on Monday, the French champions confirmed that Dembélé will continue receiving treatment after suffering a calf strain during PSG’s 2-1 defeat to Paris FC in their final Ligue 1 match of the season.

The winger was forced off after just 27 minutes of the game, raising immediate concerns over his availability for one of the biggest fixtures of the season.

“Dembélé will remain under treatment for the next few days,” PSG stated, without giving a clear timeline for his return.

With the Champions League final scheduled for May 30, it remains uncertain whether the former FC Barcelona star will recover in time to feature against Arsenal.

Opinion

Dembélé’s potential absence would be a significant blow for PSG, especially in a match of this magnitude. When fully fit, he offers unpredictability, pace, and creativity that can change a game in seconds — qualities that are often decisive in finals.

However, his injury also highlights a recurring issue in his career: availability. While his talent has never been in doubt, his consistency in staying fit has often limited his impact at crucial moments.

For Arsenal, this update may feel like a small advantage, but Champions League finals are rarely decided by one player alone. PSG still possess enough attacking depth to remain dangerous, meaning Mikel Arteta’s side will need full focus regardless of who is available.
