Malouda Advises Osimhen to Choose Chelsea or Liverpool Over Manchester United

Malouda Advises Osimhen to Choose Chelsea or Liverpool Over Manchester United

Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has suggested that Victor Osimhen would be a better fit for either Chelsea or Liverpool rather than Manchester United.

Malouda also expressed confidence that the Nigerian striker’s next destination after his time at Galatasaray will likely be the Premier League.

“When you look at Osimhen’s mindset and passion for the game, I think he belongs in the Premier League,” Malouda told Snabbare via Football London.

The former France international praised Osimhen’s performances across different leagues, highlighting his success in Italy, France, and Turkey.

“He has done great in Italy, France, and now Turkey. His next step is the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, where he can play in a team that can win it,” he added.

Malouda specifically pointed to Chelsea and Liverpool as clubs whose style and ambitions align better with the striker’s qualities.

“I’d say Chelsea, and maybe Liverpool, are the clubs that suit Osimhen way better than Manchester United,” he concluded.

Opinion: Osimhen Needs Stability, Not Just a Big Name Move

Victor Osimhen is now at a stage in his career where the next decision could define his legacy in European football.

That’s why Florent Malouda’s comments are interesting—not because they dismiss Manchester United, but because they focus on fit rather than fame.

Osimhen thrives in high-intensity systems where forwards press aggressively, attack space quickly, and receive consistent service. In theory, both Chelsea and Liverpool could offer that environment more naturally than the current structure at Manchester United.

Liverpool, especially, feels like a club where his energy, movement, and physicality could flourish. Chelsea, meanwhile, desperately need a reliable elite striker and may be willing to build around him.

The concern with Manchester United is instability. Frequent managerial changes, inconsistent attacking patterns, and pressure-heavy expectations have made life difficult for several forwards in recent years.

But football transfers are rarely just tactical decisions. Financial terms, Champions League football, project vision, and timing will all matter.

One thing is clear: wherever Osimhen goes next, he won’t just be signing for a club—he’ll be choosing the system and environment most capable of elevating him into one of the world’s truly elite strikers.
