Mercy Aigbe Playfully Calls Out Son Juwon After ₦600,000 Lunch Bill Remark

Mercy Aigbe Playfully Calls Out Son Juwon After ₦600,000 Lunch Bill Remark

Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has left fans amused after playfully calling out her son, Juwon Gentry, over his reaction to an expensive lunch date.

The actress, who has recently been sharing heartwarming moments with her son on social media, posted a video showing the pair enjoying a meal together.

According to Mercy, the surprise came after they finished eating when Juwon reportedly described the meal as "cheap," despite the bill exceeding ₦600,000.

Amused by his confidence, the actress jokingly insisted that her son should be the one to settle the bill or face an unusual consequence.

"Took this boy to lunch and he had the effrontery to say the food is cheap, that the bill isn't much. Y'all should tell him to pay; otherwise he will wash plates," she wrote.

The humorous exchange quickly entertained fans, many of whom reacted to the playful mother-and-son banter in the comment section.

The lunch date comes shortly after Mercy shared another memorable family moment when Juwon took her for a drive in her own car. The actress admitted she was nervous throughout the experience as her son proudly demonstrated that he had become a confident young driver.

Only days earlier, Mercy became emotional while celebrating Juwon's graduation, breaking down in tears as she reflected on how far he had come and expressing gratitude for witnessing another important milestone in his life.

The actress has consistently celebrated her son's achievements, including his birthday in June, when she described watching him grow into a responsible young man as one of her greatest joys.

Their close relationship has also extended into business. Mercy previously revealed that she had taken on the role of Juwon's manager as he expanded his career as a young influencer, proudly referring to herself as "the coolest manager."

Opinion: Parenting Doesn't End When Children Grow Up—It Simply Changes

Mercy Aigbe's playful exchange with her son highlights the evolving nature of parenting. As children grow older, relationships often shift from strict discipline to friendship, humour and mutual understanding.

While Juwon's comment about the lunch bill was clearly made in jest, Mercy's light-hearted response reflects a healthy balance between allowing a child to express confidence and reminding them of the value of money.

The recent graduation, driving lessons and family outings also show a mother enjoying the rewards of years of dedication. These everyday moments often become just as meaningful as major career achievements.

Beyond the celebrity spotlight, the story resonates with many families navigating the transition from raising children to supporting young adults. Laughter, shared experiences and open communication remain some of the strongest foundations for lasting family bonds.
