BBNaija Season 11 to Premiere July 26 With Record ₦160 Million Grand Prize
Organisers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) have officially announced that the highly anticipated Season 11 will premiere on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with a record-breaking ₦160 million grand prize awaiting the eventual winner.
The announcement was made during a press briefing on Wednesday, confirming that this year's edition will offer the largest prize in the history of the reality television show since it debuted in 2006.
The increase in the prize money signals the organisers' commitment to making the competition even more attractive while raising the stakes for contestants competing for fame and fortune.
Ahead of the new season, the organisers conducted physical auditions in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu between May 22 and 24, 2026.
The auditions were free of charge and open to Nigerians aged 21 years and above, provided they possessed valid means of identification.
As with previous editions, viewers can expect weeks of intense competition, strategic gameplay, entertaining tasks, emotional moments and dramatic twists as housemates battle for the life-changing cash prize.
Since its launch, Big Brother Naija has remained one of Africa's biggest reality television franchises, producing celebrities, influencers, entrepreneurs and entertainers while consistently dominating conversations across social media.
With a record ₦160 million up for grabs, expectations are already high that Season 11 could become one of the most competitive and widely watched editions yet.
Opinion
The increase in the grand prize reflects the growing commercial success and cultural influence of Big Brother Naija. However, while the money will undoubtedly attract more talented contestants, the show's lasting appeal will depend on the quality of the cast, engaging storylines and creative production. If the organisers deliver compelling personalities alongside exciting twists, Season 11 has every chance of living up to the hype and setting new viewership records.
