Folashade Ijamilusi Boosts Super Falcons Camp Ahead of WAFCON 2026

The Super Falcons have received a major boost ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with the arrival of forward Folashade Ijamilusi at the team's training camp in Casablanca, Morocco.

Ijamilusi checked into the Hotel Marriott camp on Tuesday, taking the number of players in camp to 23 as Nigeria steps up preparations for the continental tournament.

The Liaoning Shenyang Shenbei Hefeng forward was one of the standout performers during Nigeria's triumphant 2024 WAFCON campaign. The former Edo Queens striker scored two goals, including one in the memorable 3-2 victory over hosts Morocco in the final.

Her arrival provides another attacking option for the coaching crew as the nine-time African champions fine-tune their preparations.

Only Deborah Abiodun and Gift Monday are yet to report to camp. The duo's arrival was delayed after their scheduled flight from the United States was cancelled due to technical issues.

Both players are, however, expected to link up with the squad on Wednesday, which would complete the team's preparations before the competition begins.

The Super Falcons are scheduled to depart Casablanca for Rabat on Friday, where they will play all of their group-stage fixtures as they begin another quest for continental glory.
