Mamelodi Sundowns Open Talks to Sign Nigerian Defender Olisa Ndah
African champions Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. have reportedly begun discussions over a move for Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Ndah is searching for a fresh chapter in his career after leaving Stellenbosch F.C. at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 28-year-old had joined Stellenbosch following the termination of his contract with Orlando Pirates F.C. in January, but struggled for regular playing time, making just seven league appearances.
According to reports from South Africa, Sundowns have already established contact with the defender's representatives as they assess options to reinforce their backline.
The Pretoria-based club is expected to compete on multiple fronts next season, including domestic competitions and continental football, prompting the need for greater squad depth.
Ndah, who has previously represented Nigeria at international level, is valued for his composure on the ball, aerial strength and experience in the South African top flight.
Opinion
A move to Mamelodi Sundowns could be exactly the reset Olisa Ndah needs. While his recent spell at Stellenbosch offered limited opportunities, his quality has never been in serious doubt.
Sundowns have consistently set the standard in African club football, and joining such a competitive environment would give Ndah the chance to fight for major trophies while rebuilding his reputation. The challenge, however, will be earning a starting spot in one of the continent's strongest squads.
If the transfer materialises and Ndah can stay fit while rediscovering his best form, it could also strengthen his chances of returning to regular contention for the Super Eagles.
