Patrick Vieira Tips Arsenal to Fight Till the End in Premier League Title Race

Patrick Vieira Tips Arsenal to Fight Till the End in Premier League Title Race

Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira believes his former club has what it takes to fight for the Premier League title this season under Mikel Arteta, describing the current squad as one that has reached “a different level” of quality and ambition.

The Gunners, who currently hold a one-point lead over Liverpool, have positioned themselves as strong contenders for the crown after finishing as runners-up in the past three campaigns.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Vieira — now managing Italian side Genoa — praised Arteta’s recruitment strategy and the team’s impressive performances so far.

“I think Arteta made a really strong statement by bringing those players in the summer,” Vieira said. “On the field, so far, they’re doing really good games. I believe that Arsenal is one of the few teams that can win the Premier League.”

The former Arsenal captain, who famously lifted multiple titles under Arsène Wenger, also noted that the Premier League’s competitiveness makes predicting a winner difficult but insisted that Arsenal should not be counted out.

“You will have to count on Arsenal to be competitive and to be there to fight until the end because the players they managed to bring in will put the quality of the team on a different level,” he added.

Arsenal will resume their campaign after the international break with an away fixture against Fulham, where Arteta’s men will look to secure another vital three points in the title race.

Interestingly, Vieira’s fellow club legend Thierry Henry also recently voiced optimism about Arsenal’s chances, further fueling belief among fans that this could finally be the Gunners’ year.

💭 Opinion: Arsenal’s Time Feels Different — But Consistency Will Be Their Real Test

Patrick Vieira’s words carry weight — not just because of his legendary status, but because he understands what a title-winning Arsenal looks like. And while optimism around the Emirates is running high, one truth remains: consistency wins titles, not momentum alone.

Arteta’s Arsenal have grown remarkably — tactically sharper, mentally tougher, and far more balanced across the pitch. His summer signings have added depth and flexibility that previous Arsenal sides lacked. Yet, the Premier League has a way of humbling even the strongest teams — just ask Liverpool or Manchester City on their off days.

If the Gunners can learn from the heartbreaks of the last three seasons — particularly their late-season slips — then this campaign could mark the end of a 21-year wait for the Premier League trophy.

Vieira’s faith is more than nostalgia; it’s recognition. Arsenal finally look like a team that can not only dream but endure — and that, perhaps, is the difference between contenders and champions.
