Sophia Momodu Warns Fans Against Calling Her Davido’s Wife
Nigerian entrepreneur Sophia Momodu has cautioned fans and content creators against referring to her as the wife of music star Davido, stressing that such labels are inaccurate and disrespectful.
In a video broadcast shared online, Momodu, who is Davido’s first baby mama, explained that despite ending their relationship many years ago—and with the singer now married—some fans still address her as his wife. She said the situation often leaves her shocked and uncomfortable.
Recalling a recent encounter, Momodu revealed how a content creator greeted her as “Mama Imade, OBO’s wife,” a description she immediately rejected.
“I was shocked because I am not his wife,” she said. “Stop referring to me as Davido’s wife. Let’s respect people’s marriages and rules. If people have moved on, allow them to move on in peace. Everyone is happy and doing what they are supposed to do.”
Momodu emphasized that she has moved on with her life and urged fans to do the same, calling for respect for personal boundaries and choices.
Opinion:
Sophia Momodu’s message highlights an important conversation about identity and respect in the age of celebrity culture. While public figures often attract labels tied to past relationships, it is essential to acknowledge growth, change, and personal autonomy. Her call is not one of bitterness, but of clarity—urging fans to respect present realities rather than cling to outdated narratives. In doing so, she reminds the public that every individual deserves to be addressed on their own terms.
