NNL Reschedules Godswill Akpabio FC vs Solution FC Clash to Accommodate Federation Cup Duties
The Nigeria National League (NNL) has officially rescheduled the highly anticipated Matchday 12 fixture between Godswill Akpabio FC and Solution FC to allow the latter sufficient time to prepare for their President Federation Cup Round of 16 showdown.
Originally slated for Sunday, April 13, the match will now take place two days earlier on Friday, April 11 at the Uyo Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom.
The adjustment comes as Solution FC gears up to face Kwara United in a tough Federation Cup Round of 16 tie scheduled for next Wednesday in Benin.
Confirming the change, Solution FC’s media officer, Onyedika, told Completesports:
“Yes, our match against Godswill Akpabio United has been shifted to Friday at the Uyo Township Stadium. We’ve received communication from the NNL to that effect, and it’s to give us ample time to prepare for our Federation Cup Round of 16 match against Kwara United in Benin next Wednesday.”
✍️ Opinion: Smart Scheduling, Better Football
This rescheduling move by the NNL is a commendable show of flexibility and support for its clubs’ broader competitions. By making room for Solution FC’s Federation Cup aspirations, the league demonstrates that it values player welfare, adequate preparation, and competitive representation at national tournaments.
It's small decisions like these that create a more player-friendly environment and ultimately raise the standard of the game. And for fans? It means more intense, better-prepared matchups with less burnout and more entertainment.
Let’s just hope the change works in Solution FC’s favor and they rise to the occasion — not just on Friday in Uyo, but next week in Benin as well.
⚽ Will this scheduling tweak help Solution FC pull off an upset against Kwara United? Time will tell, but the stage is well set.
