“If Tinubu Fails, No One Can Fix Nigeria” – Comedian Seyi Law Declares in Candid Podcast Moment

“If Tinubu Fails, No One Can Fix Nigeria” – Comedian Seyi Law Declares in Candid Podcast Moment

Popular Nigerian comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, widely known as Seyi Law, has stirred fresh political debate after stating emphatically that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains Nigeria’s best shot at true national transformation — even amid the country’s ongoing economic hardship and rising insecurity.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Teju Babyface Deep Dive Podcast, the comedian didn’t mince words when expressing his continued faith in Tinubu, saying:

“I tell you wholeheartedly, not with any sentiment, if Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot redirect the ship of Nigeria, no politician currently can do it. None. Not Atiku, not Peter Obi. Not with what I know about all of them.”

🎙️ A Bold Stand — With a Price

Seyi Law, who was a vocal supporter of Tinubu during the 2023 presidential campaign, admitted that his political stance has cost him dearly — particularly in the entertainment space. According to him, some Nigerians have stopped attending his shows and supporting his craft simply because of his political alignment.

Yet, he remains unbothered:

“Some Nigerians hate me for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They don’t even support my shows anymore. You might not support me today, but I will want to be 70 or 80 and see my children enjoying the benefits of the sacrifices I’ve made today.”

🧠 Opinion: Patriotism or Blind Loyalty?

Seyi Law’s comments raise an age-old dilemma in Nigerian politics — hope versus realism. While it’s admirable to remain hopeful and invested in national progress, blind loyalty can sometimes cloud objectivity.

Nigeria’s challenges — economic instability, fuel crises, security concerns, and inflation — have pushed many citizens into deep frustration. The bold claim that no other politician could do better is not just controversial — it might be dismissive of the aspirations and capabilities of others who have earned public trust through transparency, innovation, or grassroots engagement.

But there's also something to be said for Seyi Law’s optimism. In a country where most people give up on leadership after every election cycle, he is choosing to hope, endure, and believe — even if that belief comes at a personal cost.

📌 Final Thoughts:

Whether you agree with Seyi Law or not, one thing is clear: Nigeria needs more honest conversations, not just about leaders, but also about expectations, sacrifices, and shared responsibility.

And as 2025 and beyond unfolds, the real question won’t be who we supported, but what we held them accountable for.

💬 What do you think? Is Seyi Law being hopeful, honest — or just overly loyal?
