John Mikel Obi Backs Victor Osimhen to Join Chelsea This Summer

Chelsea legend John Mikel Obi has openly expressed his desire to see Victor Osimhen don the Blues jersey next season, as speculation over the Nigerian striker’s future intensifies.

Osimhen, who was on the verge of joining Chelsea from Napoli last summer, saw the move collapse over wage demands. However, with Chelsea in urgent need of a clinical forward, the 26-year-old is once again high on their wishlist.

Manchester United are also reportedly in the race to sign Osimhen, while mega-money offers from Saudi Arabia linger in the background. Yet, Mikel is rooting for his compatriot to choose Stamford Bridge.

“He (Osimhen) wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing his football next season somewhere in the Premier League. I hope he comes,” Mikel revealed during his punditry role with Bein Sports.
"I know where we stopped with the contract. I know where we are. It’s an easy fix because we’ve done all the hard work last summer.”

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the most lethal strikers in world football, would undoubtedly bring firepower and flair to a Chelsea side in desperate need of a cutting edge up front.

Our Opinion:
Bringing Osimhen to Stamford Bridge could be the game-changer Chelsea fans have been craving. His physicality, pace, and goal-scoring instinct perfectly suit Premier League football. With a fellow Nigerian and club legend like Mikel Obi pushing for the deal, there’s an air of optimism that this summer might finally deliver the big move. Osimhen in Blue? It’s the dream — and now it feels tantalizingly within reach! 🔵🔥
