"Premier League Beckons?" – Gernot Rohr Urges Moses Simon to Leave Nantes for Bigger Challenge

"Premier League Beckons?" – Gernot Rohr Urges Moses Simon to Leave Nantes for Bigger Challenge

Former Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has advised Nigerian winger Moses Simon to embrace a new chapter in his career, recommending a move away from Ligue 1 side FC Nantes—and possibly into the English Premier League.

Simon, 29, who joined Nantes from Spanish side Levante in 2020, has just one year left on his current contract. With interest already coming from Premier League club Everton and Turkish side Trabzonspor, the race for his signature may be heating up.

“England would be a good challenge. He speaks the language, and many Nigerian players have succeeded there. His pace, technical skills, and eye for goal make him a great fit for the Premier League,” Rohr told Africa Foot.

Simon has proven his value this season, recording seven goals and nine assists in 30 appearances for Antoine Kombouaré’s men.

💬 OPINION: Time for Moses Simon to Soar Higher?

Rohr’s suggestion might just be spot on. At 29, Moses Simon is at a career stage where he needs a fresh challenge to solidify his legacy. The Premier League, with its fast-paced style and global spotlight, could provide the ideal platform.

With his explosive pace, direct play, and growing leadership presence on the pitch, a move to England—especially to a side like Everton, who need offensive spark—might not only revive his club career but also reaffirm his value on the international scene with Nigeria.

If Simon is looking to exit Ligue 1 on a high note, now might be the perfect time to take the leap.
