Uche Ogbodo Slams GUO Logistics Over Alleged Package Theft & Poor Service
Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Uche Ogbodo has publicly called out popular transport and courier service GUO Logistics, accusing their Ajah office staff of mishandling her package, extortion, and what she boldly described as “a coordinated game scheme.”
In a detailed Instagram rant, the actress recounted how she failed to receive a delivery notification after a package was sent to her from Abuja. Five days passed without a single message or update from GUO. When she finally sent her PA to check, she was told a pin from a message she never received was required to claim it.
“I never even got a text that my package had arrived!” Uche lamented.
After her PA was denied the package, Ogbodo personally drove to the office, only to be told she would need to pay demurrage — a holding fee — before she could collect it. Despite pleading and asking to see the manager, the staff allegedly stonewalled her and showed no intention of helping.
“It became clear they were running a scheme,” she added. “Why are logistics companies always trying to steal people’s packages?”
🔍 A Growing Concern: Customers Left in the Dark
This incident is not isolated. Many small business owners and individuals in Nigeria frequently complain of package theft, poor communication, and hidden charges from logistics companies. The most frustrating part? The burden of the loss is almost always placed on the sender or receiver — not the service provider.
💬 Public Reactions:
💢 @divaEze: “It’s not just GUO. I’ve lost three packages in one year with two different companies. We need regulation!”
💢 @MrOnyeka_: “She’s saying the truth. These logistics guys sometimes hold parcels until they’re paid ‘extra’ behind closed doors.”
💢 @AdaBossLady: “Imagine paying demurrage on a package you weren’t even told arrived. Shameful!”
✍🏽 Opinion: Time to Regulate Logistics in Nigeria
Uche’s frustration echoes a larger problem: lack of transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s logistics sector. For SMEs and business owners like her — especially in the beauty and fashion space — timely delivery is everything. A broken logistics system doesn’t just delay delivery, it damages customer trust, increases costs, and eats into already tight margins.
Regulatory bodies need to step in. No customer should be forced to plead or pay bribes for a parcel they already paid shipping for. The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) and consumer protection agencies should hold these logistics giants accountable — big names or not.
