“Tinubu Is the Best President!” – Portable Backs Tinubu, Blasts Verydarkman Over Criticism
Controversial street-hop artist Portable (Habeeb Okikiola) has once again jumped into the political conversation, this time taking aim at popular activist Verydarkman over his recent criticisms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a fiery Instagram video, Portable slammed Verydarkman for suggesting that Nigerians wished Tinubu died instead of Buhari, a comment that sparked online outrage. Defending the president, Portable boldly declared:
🗣️ “Since I was born, they kept saying Nigeria will get better. It’s under Tinubu that things are getting better. Tinubu is the best president. He is a man of action. He doesn’t talk — he works.”
He added that Tinubu is fulfilling his promises, urging Nigerians not to be deceived by online critics:
“Don’t let anybody deceive you. Nigeria is moving forward. Tinubu’s time is the best. We are behind Tinubu 100%.”
🔥 A Divided Internet
Portable’s endorsement of Tinubu sparked mixed reactions:
Supporters praised him for “speaking truth from the trenches,” calling him a voice of the streets.
Critics called it tone-deaf, arguing that his wealth and fame may shield him from the economic hardship many Nigerians are currently facing.
🧠 Opinion: Portable May Have Passion, But Is It Perspective?
It’s clear Portable is standing behind what he believes in — a loyal, outspoken voice for Tinubu. But in a country where fuel prices, inflation, and hunger are major headlines, many Nigerians don’t see the same “progress” Portable claims is happening.
While it’s his right to support any leader, dismissing the lived experiences of millions suffering under the weight of poor economic policies can be seen as out of touch — or worse, insensitive.
📣 What’s your take? Do you agree with Portable that Nigeria is “getting better” under Tinubu, or is this another celebrity missing the people’s reality?
