Mbappé Reacts to Real Madrid’s 2-1 Win Over Real Sociedad, Speaks on Huijsen’s Red Card
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has expressed his delight following Los Blancos’ hard-fought 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad in Saturday’s La Liga clash at the Reale Arena.
Mbappé and young Turkish star Arda Güler were on target as Xabi Alonso’s men secured all three points, despite playing a large part of the match with ten men after Dean Huijsen was sent off.
Speaking after the game, Mbappé promised to give his very best for the club and highlighted the importance of his contribution.
“I want to give my all for this shirt. I scored a goal today, but the team is doing its utmost so I can play well,” Mbappé told Madrid Zone.
“The assist made me very happy and was very important, because we won with the second goal. The start of the season was very good for the team, and so was my start.”
On Huijsen’s red card, he added:
“The red card slightly changed the course of the match. We faced difficulties as a team, but we came back with the three points.”
Opinion: Mbappé Already Breathing Madridismo
For a player who arrived at Real Madrid with sky-high expectations, Mbappé is already showing signs that he belongs. His goal-scoring instinct, combined with his willingness to fight for the badge, is exactly what Madridistas crave. The Frenchman’s comments—emphasizing both his own contributions and the team’s effort—reflect a maturity that suggests he’s not just in Madrid to shine individually but to elevate the entire squad.
What’s even more encouraging is how Madrid handled adversity. Playing away at Sociedad with ten men is never easy, but Alonso’s men dug deep, relying on Mbappé’s brilliance and Güler’s growing influence. That grit has always been part of Real Madrid’s DNA, and seeing it in action so early in the season is a promising sign.
If this performance is anything to go by, Mbappé isn’t just adapting—he’s thriving. And that should make the rest of La Liga very nervous.
