Mandy Kiss Retracts Viral “100 Men in 24 Hours” Claim, Says It Was a Publicity Stunt
Nigerian content creator Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi Adefolarin, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, has retracted her earlier statement in which she claimed she planned to sleep with 100 men within 24 hours.
In a candid video posted on her Instagram page, the controversial personality admitted that the announcement was nothing more than a publicity stunt aimed at reviving her online presence and boosting engagement on her social media accounts.
According to Mandy Kiss, the idea was born out of frustration over her declining page activity and a desire to attract followers, advertisers, and brand deals. She clarified that she never intended to carry out the controversial act.
“Me I was just joking o! Arrest ke? How much is in my account? I don’t have money for a lawyer sef. I cannot even write a statement sef. Me I was just catching cruise. I was just trying to see if I was still relevant. Everywhere was dry on my page and I came up with the idea to see if I will get engagement so I can get some adverts to do so I can make some money. I cannot sleep with 100 men, please ooo Nigerians. I don’t want to go prison o! I will die!” she said.
Mandy also appealed to Nigerians not to take the announcement seriously, expressing fears of legal trouble and reiterating that the claim was never real.
Opinion:
Mandy Kiss’s retraction is both a cautionary tale and a reflection of today’s digital age. In an online world where clicks, likes, and virality often translate into money, it’s easy to see why creators are tempted to push boundaries. But there’s a fine line between publicity stunts and reputational damage — and this episode shows just how quickly things can spiral out of control.
While her honesty in coming forward is commendable, it’s also a reminder to young content creators that shock tactics may grab attention but can also bring unintended consequences — from public backlash to legal trouble. In a social media climate driven by sensationalism, authenticity and creativity still hold more lasting value than controversy.
Ultimately, Mandy’s confession is a plea for understanding, but it’s also a wake-up call about how far some influencers feel pressured to go just to stay relevant.
