Ossai Ovie Success Criticizes TikTok Star Peller Over Multimillion-Naira House Purchase
Political aide Ossai Ovie Success has publicly criticized popular TikTok sensation Peller after the 20-year-old content creator purchased a multimillion-naira mansion and luxury car.
In a post shared on social media, Ossai expressed disappointment over the decision, arguing that Peller is too young to focus solely on material possessions at the expense of his education.
Ossai wrote:
“Peller buying a house and a car at his age when he ought to be in school is disappointing. I am disappointed at those managing him. The boy is too young to forget about education. Please take Peller back to school and invest his money. I am really disappointed.”
The comments come just days after Peller revealed he had acquired a ₦350 million mansion in Lekki, Lagos, sparking widespread conversation about his rise from social media stardom to real estate ownership at such a young age.
Opinion: Peller’s Success Sparks a Bigger Debate — Education vs Early Wealth
Ossai’s remarks highlight a long-running debate in Nigeria: Should education always come first, or can unconventional paths like social media stardom rewrite the rules of success?
On one hand, his concerns are valid. Education provides structure, long-term stability, and opportunities that fame or wealth alone might not guarantee. Many young stars who rise quickly often struggle to sustain their success without a backup plan.
On the other hand, Peller’s story is a modern-day example of how digital creativity can rival traditional careers. At just 20, he has leveraged his talent and fanbase to achieve what many only dream of at twice his age. For his fans, his new mansion is not just a house but proof that youth, social media, and determination can pay off in big ways.
The real question is whether Peller — and others like him — can strike a balance between education and entrepreneurship. Rather than discouraging his success, perhaps the conversation should shift to guiding him on how to manage his wealth responsibly, while still exploring educational opportunities that fit his lifestyle.
In truth, both sides are right: education remains important, but so does recognizing that the definition of success has evolved in the digital age.
