Muyiwa Ademola Mourns Cousin Allwell Ademola, Explains Absence from Funeral

Muyiwa Ademola Mourns Cousin Allwell Ademola, Explains Absence from Funeral

Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has shared his heartfelt condolences following the passing of his cousin, Allwell Ademola, explaining why he was unable to attend her burial in Lagos.

In an Instagram post accompanied by a photo of her gravesite, Ademola revealed that he was out of the country at the time of the funeral, missing the chance to say his final goodbyes in person. He wrote:
“It’s a final Goodbye Couz. The saddest part is my not being in the country to witness your final journey back home. Your de@th is just another painful reminder that tomorrow is never promised. Each day we live is deducted from the days we would live on earth, each birthday we celebrate takes us closer to our final birthday. May we live long, amen.”

Allwell, 49, passed away from a heart attack at her Lagos home on December 27, 2025. Her final rites began on January 8, 2026, with a Service of Songs and a candlelight procession at Lagos State Television (LTV 8) in Ikeja. She was laid to rest the following day at Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos, in the presence of colleagues, friends, and fans who came together to honor her life.

Ademola’s message, which also paid tribute to their family lineage, reflects the deep sense of loss and the universal reality of life’s fragility. From an observer’s perspective, it is a poignant reminder that even public figures, who often live in the spotlight, experience personal grief like anyone else. His reflections on mortality — how each day and birthday brings one closer to life’s end — resonate beyond the context of celebrity, encouraging a pause for appreciation of loved ones and the fleeting nature of time.

In moments like these, the convergence of personal loss and public remembrance highlights the power of community and shared memory, as family, friends, and fans unite to honor a life gone too soon.
