Carragher Backs Arsenal to Clinch Premier League Title Ahead of Man City
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has tipped Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season, placing his faith in Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of reigning champions Manchester City.
The former England defender believes the Gunners currently boast the strongest squad in the league, a key factor in his prediction. Arsenal are four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table after Pep Guardiola’s men dropped points in a surprise draw against Sunderland.
Writing in his column for The Telegraph, Carragher was emphatic in his assessment.
“Arsenal. They have the best squad, and everything is in place for them to end a 22-year wait,” he wrote.
Carragher added that if Arsenal are to finally lift the trophy, it will be built on the spine of the team, pointing to their defensive solidity and midfield control.
“If they do it, it will be built on the spine of the team and solid foundations laid by their goalkeeper, centre-backs and Declan Rice.”
Opinion: Carragher’s prediction reflects a growing belief that Arsenal have matured into genuine title winners. Unlike previous seasons, Arteta’s side now combines defensive discipline with depth across the pitch, allowing them to cope with pressure and setbacks. However, Manchester City’s history of late-season surges means the race is far from over. For Arsenal, consistency—not excitement—will decide whether this campaign finally ends their long wait for Premier League glory.
