Former BBNaija Star Cross Okonkwo Says He Lost Job Opportunity Over His Christian Faith

Former BBNaija Star Cross Okonkwo Says He Lost Job Opportunity Over His Christian Faith

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Cross Okonkwo has revealed that he recently lost a job opportunity because of his outspoken Christian faith. The 34-year-old reality TV star explained that a potential employer decided not to work with him due to his open posts about Jesus Christ on social media.

While he did not disclose the company or the nature of the job, Cross made it clear that he would never compromise his beliefs for money or fame. “I will NEVER do anything evil for money. Even if I become the poorest or the brokest human being on earth,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Cross, who gained fame from BBNaija Season 7, explained that although some people still see him as the same person from the show, he has changed in spirit and character since leaving the house. He emphasized that true wealth comes from God and not fame, and urged followers not to compare him to other former housemates.

“You are mad and don’t want to work with me because I have made my faith in Jesus Christ very clear and bold… I don’t care about fame. All wealth belongs to my father. He alone has the secret to all things,” Cross stated.

Opinion: Cross’s experience shines a light on the challenges of maintaining personal integrity in a professional world that often values conformity over conviction. In an era where social media presence can define reputations, being unapologetically vocal about one’s faith can sometimes clash with business expectations. Yet, his stance is a refreshing reminder that success shouldn’t come at the expense of core beliefs.

By prioritizing faith over fleeting opportunities, Cross demonstrates that personal values are a form of wealth in themselves — one that no job, paycheck, or social expectation can replace. For young professionals and influencers alike, his story is a powerful lesson: staying true to yourself may cost you in the short term, but it preserves dignity, peace, and long-term fulfillment.
