Jide Awobona Reacts to Peller and Jarvis’ Asoebi Prices Ahead of Celebrity Wedding

Jide Awobona Reacts to Peller and Jarvis’ Asoebi Prices Ahead of Celebrity Wedding

Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has humorously reacted to the asoebi prices announced for the upcoming wedding of popular TikTok couple Peller and Jarvis.

The social media stars recently made headlines after Peller officially paid Jarvis’ bride price during a family introduction ceremony in Benin City, marking another major step in their relationship journey.

As preparations for their highly anticipated wedding gather momentum, invitations have started reaching friends and associates, including Awobona. However, it was the asoebi price list attached to the invitation that caught the actor’s attention.

According to the list shared online, the men’s asoebi packages were priced at:

  • 4 yards – ₦350,000

  • 8 yards – ₦700,000

  • 12 yards – ₦1 millio

  • Reacting on Instagram, Awobona jokingly suggested that he might need to start selling akara and kuli-kuli to afford the outfit.

“Seems I need to start Akara and Kuli Kuli business. How can I afford this now? Help me beg Peller to sell me 2 yards. I must not miss your wedding,” he wrote.

His light-hearted response quickly generated reactions from fans, many of whom joined the conversation about the rising costs associated with celebrity weddings and social events.

Peller and Jarvis have continued to attract public attention with their relationship milestones, and their upcoming wedding is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year.

Opinion: Jide Awobona’s reaction mirrors what many Nigerians may be thinking. While lavish weddings often create excitement and memorable moments, soaring asoebi prices can leave invited guests balancing celebration with financial reality. Sometimes, the most viral part of a wedding isn't the ceremony itself—it’s the price tag attached to attending it.
