“I Would Choose You A Million Times” — Ayo Olaiya Pays Emotional Tribute To Late Mother 26 Years After Her Death
Nollywood actor Ayo Olaiya has remembered his late mother 26 years after her passing, sharing an emotional tribute in honour of the woman who shaped his life.
Taking to his Instagram page, the Yoruba actor expressed how much he still misses his mother’s love, care, advice, encouragement, motivation and prayers. He said despite the years that have passed, her absence still feels like yesterday.
Olaiya reflected on the period before her death, recalling how he played his role as a son with the little income he earned while working at a bakery. He expressed sadness that she did not live long enough to enjoy the results of her sacrifices.
“Just like yesterday, it’s been 26 years without you. Thank God for the grace to play my little role as a son from the meagre income I made from bakery work as Alakowe (bakery clerk) back then. So painful that you did not wait to eat the fruits of your labour,” he wrote.
The actor described his mother as a great woman and stated that if he had the opportunity to return to the world many times, he would still choose her as his mother.
His tribute has touched many fans, with many praising the actor for keeping the memory of his mother alive decades after her passing.
Opinion:
Ayo Olaiya’s tribute highlights a reality many people understand — losing a parent is not something time completely erases. Achievements, fame and success often become even more meaningful when people remember those who supported them before they became successful.
For many celebrities, sharing memories of late parents is not only about grief but also about appreciation. It is a reminder that behind many success stories are sacrifices made by parents who may never get the chance to witness the full impact of their efforts.
