Andrew and Tristan Tate Arrested in Miami as UK Seeks Extradition Over New Criminal Charges
Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, have been arrested in Miami, Florida, following a request by United Kingdom authorities seeking their extradition over fresh allegations of rape, sex trafficking, assault and other offences.
The United States Marshals Service confirmed the arrests on Saturday but declined to provide details of the charges, explaining that the arrest warrant remains under seal.
According to the UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Andrew Tate now faces seven additional rape charges, alongside allegations relating to sex trafficking and possession of indecent images of a child. Tristan Tate has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Authorities say the brothers are now facing a combined total of 59 criminal charges in the UK. Andrew Tate is reportedly charged with 42 offences, while Tristan faces 17. The alleged crimes are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.
The CPS said the latest charges followed the receipt of additional evidence from Bedfordshire Police, increasing the number of alleged victims in the case to seven.
Extradition proceedings are now expected to begin as British prosecutors seek to return the dual British-American nationals to the UK to stand trial.
The Tate brothers have consistently denied all allegations against them.
The latest development adds another chapter to the legal challenges facing the controversial siblings, who have also been under separate criminal investigation in Romania. In 2024, UK authorities secured European arrest warrants seeking their return, while a recent attempt by the brothers to compel prosecutors to reveal the identities of their accusers was rejected by the courts.
