Fulham lost to Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage on Saturday, which is why almost nobody led with the other thing that happened. Alex Iwobi started that match, and it was his 100th Premier League appearance for Fulham.

He has 100 for Arsenal and 123 for Everton. That makes 323 in total, and it puts him in a group of five.

The list

Players with 100 or more Premier League appearances for three different clubs, in the competition's entire history:

Iwobi reached the mark on Saturday 5 September 2026.

Why this is harder than it sounds

A hundred league games at one club takes roughly three full seasons of being picked. Doing it three times means being wanted, being fit, and being useful under managers who did not sign you, across a decade in which the average Premier League squad turns over almost completely.

It also means never dropping out of the division. Iwobi has not spent a season in the Championship, has not gone abroad for a payday, and has not had the long injury absence that ends this kind of run.

The other four names on that list are English. Iwobi is the only one who also flies six thousand miles for international duty several times a season.

The reputation problem

Iwobi has spent most of his career being discussed as a disappointment, largely because he came through at Arsenal and was measured against what an Arsenal academy graduate is supposed to become. Judged that way, 323 Premier League appearances reads as a career that never took off.

Judged against every other Nigerian who has played in England, it is close to the ceiling. Very few reach a hundred games in the division at all. He has done it three times over, at three clubs, in three different roles, and he arrived at Fulham on a free transfer in 2023 as a player Everton were willing to lose.

Consistency is the least glamorous quality in football and the hardest to fake. This is what it looks like on a Saturday nobody remembers.
