Bryan Mbeumo Urges Manchester United Teammates to Take Responsibility Amid Poor Run of Form
Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has called on his teammates to take collective responsibility for their underwhelming performances this season.
United are currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table after their latest defeat to Brentford, and pressure continues to mount on manager Ruben Amorim and his squad.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s clash with Sunderland, Mbeumo stressed the importance of accountability in a club of United’s stature.
“I think everyone in the team needs to take responsibility. When you play in a club this big, everyone needs to know what to do – as a team, we need to do better,” Mbeumo told Sky Sports.
The Cameroonian international added that the team is trying to block out external criticism and focus on their own performance.
“The only thing we want to be focused on is ourselves; we just try to listen to what’s going on inside. It’s not that hard [to block the noise out]… you just have to stay focused on your own things.”
Opinion
Mbeumo’s words strike at the very heart of Manchester United’s struggles — accountability. For a club steeped in history and expectation, finger-pointing or waiting for a “miracle fix” simply won’t cut it. The reality is stark: United have the talent, but the cohesion, mentality, and tactical discipline have been missing.
His call to focus on internal responsibility rather than outside noise is refreshing. Social media criticism, pundit debates, and fan frustration are inevitable, but what truly matters is how the players respond on the pitch.
Yet, accountability must translate into action. The real test comes against Sunderland — will United show resilience, unity, and hunger, or will the cycle of excuses continue?
One thing is certain: fans don’t just want apologies or press soundbites; they want results. And perhaps, just perhaps, Mbeumo’s rallying cry could be the spark United desperately need. ⚽🔥
