“Find a Better Job” — Actress Bimpe Akintunde Fires Back at Troll Who Said He Hates Her

“Find a Better Job” — Actress Bimpe Akintunde Fires Back at Troll Who Said He Hates Her

Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has called out a social media troll who slid into her Instagram DM just to tell her he “hates” her.

The mother of two shared a screenshot of the message on her page, expressing disbelief over how someone could still harbor hatred toward others despite the current challenges in the country.

According to Bimpe, the troll used a fake account, frequently viewed her Instagram stories, and still gathered the courage to send such a message. Amused rather than offended, she joked about the audacity, before declaring that she had handed the individual over to God.

She also advised the troll to “find a better job,” stressing that she neither knows nor cares about people who hate her, especially when life is already difficult for everyone.

Opinion: The Energy People Spend on Hate Could Build Them a Future

Bimpe’s response may be humorous, but it raises a serious point — why do people still invest time and data into online hate?

Nigeria is battling economic hardship, insecurity, and emotional fatigue. Yet, some individuals still find the energy to create fake accounts, stalk celebrities, and send insults. It’s almost ironic — instead of channeling energy into productivity, growth, or even joy, some choose bitterness as a hobby.

Celebrities are humans too — with bills, emotions, and families. And while criticism comes with fame, unprovoked hatred says more about the sender than the receiver.

Bimpe’s message is a reminder many need: if life is already hard, adding hate to it won’t make it softer. Redirect that time into learning a skill, finding peace, or building something meaningful — because no one has ever become successful by trolling.

Sometimes, the best clapback is simply living well and refusing to be dragged into darkness.
