Nollywood Actress Sarah Martins Alleges ₦3 Million Stolen by Newly Hired Staff

Nollywood Actress Sarah Martins Alleges ₦3 Million Stolen by Newly Hired Staff

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has accused a recently hired staff member of making unauthorized transfers totaling ₦3 million from her bank account, an incident she detailed in a video shared online.

In the video, Martins explained that she employed a 20-year-old man as her videographer and business sales manager about two weeks prior to the alleged theft. According to her, ₦2 million was transferred from her Zenith Bank account on December 22, followed by another ₦1 million shortly thereafter.

Initially, Martins thought the first transfer was a banking error and did not immediately suspect her staff member. She noted that the transfer allegedly occurred during a high-profile event she attended, which delayed her suspicion.

Appearing visibly distressed in the video, Martins later publicly apologized to Zenith Bank for initially doubting the institution, praising the bank for its prompt detection of the irregular activity. She also emphasized that the incident has made her more cautious in future hires, especially as she continues her charity and business endeavors.

It is important to note that these claims were made solely in Martins’ video, and no official confirmation or court ruling has yet been issued regarding the alleged theft.

Opinion: While this is undoubtedly a distressing situation for Martins, it serves as a cautionary tale for individuals and businesses alike about the importance of vetting staff and monitoring financial activity closely. In an era where trust and transparency are critical, even short-term hires can pose risks. For fans and followers, the incident highlights the challenges public figures face behind the scenes and the importance of safeguarding both personal and professional finances.
