Portable Reveals He Created His Instagram Account for Internet Fraud
Nigerian street-hop sensation Portable has once again made headlines, this time with a shocking revelation about his past. The singer, known for his controversial antics, disclosed that he originally created his Instagram page for Yahoo Yahoo (internet fraud) before his music career took off.
In a candid conversation with popular content creator Egungun of Lagos during a car ride, Portable was questioned about the name Elizabeth Joyce, which appears on his Instagram profile.
Responding to the inquiry, the Zazoo Zeh crooner admitted that his initial goal was to use the account for fraudulent activities but later repurposed it when fame found him.
"To be honest with you, I created an Instagram account when I wanted to learn Yahoo Yahoo (internet fraud). That was why I initially opened the account, but it didn’t work out. I later went back to edit the account and removed the foreigner’s picture from it when I heard that people were looking for me online because I had become successful. Na working account."
From Internet Fraud to Stardom
Portable’s journey from aspiring Yahoo boy to a household name in the Nigerian music industry is an unconventional one. He shot to fame in December 2021 with his breakout single Zazoo Zeh, featuring Olamide and Poco Lee. Since then, he has remained a controversial figure, often making headlines for his outspoken nature and dramatic lifestyle.
Opinion: A Cautionary Tale or Another Controversy?
While Portable’s revelation may seem humorous to some, it raises serious concerns about the desperation of young Nigerians to find quick money through fraud. His story, however, also highlights an alternative path—talent and hard work can lead to success, even for those who once considered illegal means.
The question remains: Should Portable be praised for his honesty, or does this admission set a bad example for his young fans? 🤔
