Portable Calls Relationship with Actress Ashabi Simple the ‘Biggest Mistake’ of His Life
Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again made headlines—this time, over his turbulent relationship with his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple.
In a leaked audio conversation shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, the Zazoo Zeh crooner launched a scathing attack on Ashabi, accusing her of trying to drive away other women in his life, including his legally wedded wife, Bewaji.
“You didn’t suffer with me. You only came into my life because of my glory. I made you. Without my name who knows you before now?” Portable said in the heated exchange.
The singer further expressed regret over their relationship, labeling it “the biggest mistake” of his life.
“You molested and disrespected me in public. You are evil. Any woman I want to call my wife must respect me, but you are driving me crazy. I’m always happy whenever people talk about my wife, Bewaji. You are the mistake I made in my life,” he said.
Portable also accused Ashabi of trying to destroy his relationship with other women, including Queen Dami, who reportedly sought reconciliation with him.
“Among all my baby mamas, you are the one chasing people away including Queen Dami. When she came to apologise, you and your friends spoiled it. You are a useless human being,” he alleged.
In his usual fiery tone, the singer berated Ashabi for what he described as ungratefulness, claiming she had achieved fame through his influence.
“You poor girl and actress, what have you ever bought for your parents? You’re wasting your time, I can’t love you. Leave my life. You this ingrate. Who knows you before I came into your life and raised you up?” he added.
Since Ashabi became one of Portable’s baby mamas, their relationship has been marked by frequent public quarrels, social media call-outs, and reconciliations, making them a constant subject of gossip within Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
Despite the recurring drama, the duo often find a way to reconcile, though their relationship continues to spark debate among fans and critics alike.
💭 Opinion: When Love Turns to Public Drama — Portable’s Relationship Saga Reflects a Deeper Issue
Portable’s latest outburst may not be surprising to anyone familiar with his chaotic love life, but it raises an important question: when does love become self-destruction?
The singer’s words reveal more than anger — they reveal exhaustion. A man who thrives on energy and noise suddenly sounds like he’s drowning in it. His relationship with Ashabi, once a source of excitement and attention, has seemingly turned into a storm of ego, jealousy, and mistrust.
In truth, Portable’s outcry mirrors what happens when private relationships become public entertainment. Every quarrel becomes content, every apology a performance. And in this digital age, that cycle rarely ends well.
Yet, beneath the chaos lies a man seeking peace — one who still calls his wife Bewaji “his joy” and admits his mistakes openly. Love, for all its beauty, can indeed become a battlefield when fame and pride mix into the equation.
Perhaps what Portable truly needs isn’t another reconciliation — but a moment of silence. Silence to reflect, to heal, and to separate love from noise. Because at this point, it’s not just his relationship that needs saving; it’s his peace.
