Don Jazzy has responded to an X user who posted videos claiming that he and Ayra Starr's mother were preparing to welcome a baby. "Let me first tag and beg your family members to talk sense to you now o," the Mavin Records boss replied. Neither Ayra Starr nor her mother has commented.

How a rumour like this is built

The claim was posted on 29 September by an account that put together clips of Don Jazzy and Ayra Starr's mother together, and added a caption. There was no source, no confirmation and no reason to believe it beyond the fact that two people appeared in the same footage.

Ingredient	Why it works
Famous names	Guarantees attention
Real video clips	Looks like evidence
A caption that adds the story	The only part that is invented

The clips are usually real. The meaning attached to them is not.

Why he answered with a joke. A formal denial gives a rumour a second headline. A dismissive one-liner treats it as what it is, and Don Jazzy's tone, frustrated but funny, made the poster the story instead of the claim.

Don Jazzy's reply had more truth in one line than the rumour had in the whole thread.

The cost to the people named

Don Jazzy can laugh it off. A woman named in an unsourced pregnancy story about her daughter's label boss has less room to do that. Sharing the rumour, even to mock it, keeps it circulating. The kindest thing readers can do is let it die.
