The French connection
France has one of the largest Afro-pop scenes in Europe, much of it rooted in Francophone West and Central Africa. A Burna Boy feature on a French record is a bridge between Anglophone and Francophone African pop, the two halves of the continent's music that have spent decades largely separate. Those bridges are where the next decade of growth is likely to come from.
