Eniola Ajao Breaks Silence on Bobrisky’s EFCC Arrest Allegations: “He Knows Why He Was Arrested”

Eniola Ajao Breaks Silence on Bobrisky’s EFCC Arrest Allegations: “He Knows Why He Was Arrested”

Popular Nollywood actress and film producer Eniola Ajao has finally addressed the lingering speculation surrounding her alleged role in the arrest and sentencing of crossdresser Bobrisky by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The actress, whose movie premiere in March 2024 saw Bobrisky controversially awarded “Best Dressed Female”, has come under fire from online critics and even Bobrisky himself — who implied that the incident triggered the EFCC’s attention, ultimately leading to his six-month jail sentence for naira abuse.

In a recent interview on Oyinmomotv via YouTube, Eniola Ajao dismissed the claims as baseless and clarified that Bobrisky’s arrest was not solely connected to her event.

“Bob knew why he was arrested,” she said.
“There were many issues surrounding him. My movie premiere was just used as a bait. People should understand that social media will always twist things. Even when Bob was in prison, I visited him. There’s no enmity between us.”

She added that explaining oneself on social media often falls on deaf ears, as many users “only believe what they want to believe.” Eniola emphasized that she and Bobrisky share a mutual understanding and that she stood by him during his legal ordeal — something she insists a true friend would do.

Opinion: Social Media Trials and the Misplaced Blame Game

Eniola Ajao’s response reflects a sobering reality of social media culture: in the court of public opinion, narratives are often judged before facts are known. The assumption that the actress somehow orchestrated Bobrisky’s downfall was a stretch, yet it stuck — likely because it fit the drama social media thrives on.

What’s refreshing here is Ajao’s measured response. Instead of clapping back or playing the victim, she clarified her stance without turning it into a spectacle. Her support for Bobrisky, despite being blamed, speaks volumes about loyalty and maturity — especially in an industry where feuds often overshadow facts.

At the heart of this story is a bigger question: Why do we rush to conclusions? Bobrisky’s arrest was bound to happen, many argue, based on repeated public flaunting of naira abuse and other legal gray areas. But pinning it all on a movie premiere felt more like a convenient scapegoat than a rational analysis.

As the dust settles, perhaps this will be a lesson — not just in friendship and grace under fire — but also in resisting the temptation to play judge, jury, and social media executioner.
