Davido Opens Up: “Me and Chioma Are Taking a Break From Childbearing”

Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about an important and heartfelt decision he and his wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, have made regarding their family—they’re taking a break from having more children.

Speaking on the latest episode of Ride Along With Darryl, the father of five revealed that the decision was mutual and intentional, especially as Chioma is now looking to focus on her career goals and personal growth after the recent birth of their twins.

“I don’t want more children now,” Davido said frankly.
“Me and my wife are taking a break. She needs to get out to work. She wants to do a lot of things like opening her restaurant and launching her spices. I feel she deserves a couple of years off after having 3 kids.”

🍼 From Tragedy to Triumph

TalkTalk Nigeria recalls that the power couple welcomed a set of twins—a boy and girl—in 2023, just a year after enduring the heartbreaking loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in a tragic swimming pool accident.

Their journey has been filled with both sorrow and strength, making this new chapter even more inspiring for fans and families alike.

❤️ A Partnership Rooted in Respect

Davido’s words reflect more than just a personal decision—they show a new kind of celebrity love story, one that values mutual respect, healing, and empowerment. In a world where stars are often caught in controversy, Davido is setting a positive tone by giving Chioma room to pursue her dreams.

And Chioma? She’s got big plans: from opening a restaurant to launching her spice line, she’s proving that motherhood doesn’t mean the end of ambition—it’s just another powerful chapter.

💬 Opinion: This Is The Energy We Love To See!

At a time when conversations around women, work, and motherhood are growing louder, it's refreshing to see one of Africa’s biggest stars openly advocate for his partner’s personal dreams.

📌 Fans are already reacting warmly on social media, praising the couple for their mature decision and progressive approach to parenting.
