“Back Amorim or Sack Him!” – Jamie O’Hara Slams Man United After Another Woeful Loss
Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has delivered a stinging assessment of Manchester United following their dismal 1-0 home defeat to Wolves on Sunday — and he’s thrown down the gauntlet to the board: "Back Ruben Amorim with signings, or replace him."
The Red Devils’ poor form hit a new low at Old Trafford as Pablo Sarabia’s second-half strike was enough to leave the home crowd stunned — and United languishing in 14th place on the Premier League table.
🗣️ O’Hara: “Massive Problems at United”
Speaking on Sky Sports, O’Hara did not hold back:
“It was a poor performance from them today. I’m not convinced about Man United. I don’t know if this formation works.
Amorim has not got the players for the system. In the summer, they need to decide whether to bring in loads of new players for Ruben Amorim or get a new manager.”
He didn’t stop there, calling United’s season a potential “disaster” if they fail to win the Europa League.
📉 A Club in Freefall?
Once giants of English football, United’s current trajectory under Amorim is hard to watch. With just 38 points from 33 matches, whispers of relegation zone danger had even surfaced — though mathematically ruled out after Ipswich's loss to Arsenal.
But staying in the league isn’t the goal for a club of United’s stature — winning is. Competing is. Dominating is.
And right now, they’re doing none of those things.
💭 OPINION: The Problem Isn’t Just the Manager – It’s the Mentality
Amorim may have arrived with fresh ideas, but he’s trying to build a palace with broken bricks. The squad lacks identity, intensity, and clear direction. The board either needs to fully commit to the Amorim project with smart, aggressive summer signings — or admit defeat early and pull the plug.
Because let’s face it — mid-table mediocrity is not part of the Manchester United DNA.
🔜 What’s Next?
United face a tricky test against Bournemouth next — and unless something changes soon, more fan unrest and criticism will follow.
Time is ticking, and patience at the Theatre of Dreams is running thin.
