“Manchester United Need Luis Enrique” – Marcel Desailly Calls for Change at Old Trafford
In what could be a bold turn of events at Old Trafford, former France international and football legend Marcel Desailly has advised Manchester United to cut ties with Ruben Amorim and appoint PSG’s treble-winning manager, Luis Enrique.
Speaking to Oddspedia (as quoted by Metro), Desailly didn’t mince words:
“Luis Enrique would bring a new dynamic… If I was at Manchester United, I’d be asking Luis Enrique to come to my club… Manchester United need Luis Enrique.”
🔄 Amorim Under Pressure
The call comes after a deeply disappointing 2024/25 season for United under Ruben Amorim, who oversaw a 15th-place Premier League finish and a painful Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
While Amorim arrived with high hopes and a track record from Sporting Lisbon, his tactics and results have failed to inspire, and fans are growing restless.
🏆 Why Enrique?
Luis Enrique’s CV speaks for itself. The Spaniard guided PSG to a historic treble — lifting the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France in the 2024/25 season. His tactical acumen, man-management, and track record with big players have been nothing short of elite.
Let’s not forget: this is the man who also won the historic treble with Barcelona in 2015 and brought a winning identity to every squad he’s led.
🗣️ Opinion: Enrique to United – A Match Made in Football Heaven?
It’s easy to see why Desailly is rooting for the change. Manchester United are desperate for a tactical rebirth, and Luis Enrique may just be the architect of a new era.
Amorim may have potential, but United can’t afford another season flirting with relegation and falling short in Europe. Enrique brings experience, silverware, and a proven ability to work under pressure.
If Erik ten Hag once gave United hope, Enrique could give them dominance.
💬 What do you think, Red Devils fans?
Should United go all in for Luis Enrique or give Amorim one more season?
