Foluke Daramola-Salako Credits Late Mother’s Values for Sustaining Her Marriage
Nollywood actress and humanitarian Foluke Daramola-Salako has opened up about the deep impact her late mother had on her life, marriage, and faith.
Speaking in a recent podcast, the actress described her mother as not only her parent but also her “best friend” whose strength and values continue to guide her even after her passing.
Daramola-Salako revealed that her mother battled a stroke for five years before her death, yet remained steadfast in her faith and gratitude to God.
“My mom was my best friend and everything. She was sick for five years, she had a stroke. The year she got her visa during COVID-19 was the year she got sick. The truth of the matter is; it is because of my mother that I’m still married because left to me alone there are so many things that I can say I can’t take anymore, but my mom stood for everything right,” she said.
The actress praised her late mother’s resilience, recalling how she raised the family alone after losing her husband at the young age of 38 without remarrying.
“Even in her pain, my mom would still praise God. I still cried last night because I look around me and I don’t find real people and that’s the only real person I can talk to,” she added emotionally.
Fondly remembering her mother’s natural beauty, Daramola-Salako noted that she never resorted to cosmetic procedures.
“She was a very beautiful woman when she was young. She didn’t do tummy tuck or BBL but she had everything. I thank God because I’m sure she’s in a better place because the pain was so much,” she said.
Opinion:
Foluke’s tribute to her late mother is more than just a daughter’s heartfelt remembrance—it is a lesson in values, resilience, and the enduring power of parental influence. In an age where quick fixes and instant gratification often dictate personal choices, her story highlights the timeless importance of strong family foundations.
Her mother’s decision to live a life of faith, strength, and authenticity not only shaped Foluke’s perspective but also gave her the courage to fight for her marriage when she felt like giving up. That kind of influence shows how deeply parents can imprint lasting values in their children, long after they are gone.
Beyond her marriage, Foluke’s admiration for her mother’s natural beauty is a subtle yet powerful reminder that true beauty is not always about cosmetic enhancements but about grace, confidence, and inner strength.
Her story tugs at the heart because it shows that even when we lose our loved ones, the values they instill in us continue to live on—guiding, shaping, and comforting us. In many ways, her mother’s legacy is still alive through her.
