Yvonne Jegede Explains Why She Removed My Heartbeat from YouTube

Yvonne Jegede Explains Why She Removed My Heartbeat from YouTube

Nollywood actress and producer, Yvonne Jegede, has shared the emotional reason behind the sudden removal of her newly released movie, My Heartbeat, from YouTube.

The film, which premiered on the streaming platform only a day earlier, was unexpectedly taken down due to what Yvonne described as “technical issues.”

In a heartfelt note on Instagram, the actress revealed her disappointment, especially as the incident coincided with her birthday.

“I’m sorry, we have to take my movie, ‘My Heartbeat’, down due to technical issues. This is beyond my control, and with so much pain, I’m typing this. It’s supposed to be my birthday, but some people who have obviously been paid have made my day a terrible one. All my efforts were just thrown away because of incompetence. I can’t imagine this happening, but it’s happening,” she wrote.

Despite the setback, Yvonne expressed gratitude to her fans and colleagues for their overwhelming birthday wishes and messages of encouragement. She added that her focus now is on reworking the project with a new team to ensure the movie gets the release it deserves.

“This morning, after ending my day on a bad note, instead of sending gratitude, I’m having to look for new people to rework the movie. Thanks to everyone who has posted and shared. I appreciate the calls and concerns. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I love you guys.”

Opinion: When Passion Meets the Pain of Setbacks

Yvonne Jegede’s ordeal is a reminder of the hidden battles filmmakers often fight behind the screens. For viewers, a movie might just be a two-hour experience, but for the creator, it is months — sometimes years — of sacrifice, sweat, and dreams. Having such work pulled down on its release day, and on one’s birthday, is more than just a professional setback; it’s deeply personal.

What stands out, however, is Yvonne’s resilience. Rather than bowing to defeat, she’s already speaking about rebuilding and finding new hands to bring her vision back to life. That determination is inspiring.

In a fast-paced industry where critics are quick to judge, Yvonne’s story reminds us that behind every movie is a creator’s heart, and sometimes, even that heart gets bruised. But as she rightly shows, it’s not about the fall — it’s about rising again, stronger.

For fans, this is also a chance to rally behind her. Because when My Heartbeat finally makes its comeback, it won’t just be a film — it will be a testimony of persistence.

✨ Sometimes, the strongest stories aren’t told on screen, but in the courage of the people who create them.
