BBNaija S10: Faith Considers Voluntary Exit, Calls Show a “Waste of Time”
Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Faith, has expressed his desire to leave the show voluntarily, describing his participation as a “waste of time.”
Faith, who is a medical doctor, opened up to fellow housemate Joanna during a garden conversation on Friday night. Clearly frustrated, he admitted that the show was taking a toll on him mentally and emotionally.
“I want to see a therapist because I want to f**king leave. This is a waste of my time. What am I doing here? I know you don’t believe me, but I’m seriously considering it,” Faith said.
He added that he had researched the show before entering and discovered that the average time required to build a post-show career was at least five and a half weeks. Having now spent five weeks in the house, Faith appears to be at a crossroads.
Interestingly, he was among the housemates initially nominated for eviction this week, but Big Brother cancelled eviction after Head of House Rooboy pulled a “Nullify nominations” note during the live show. This reprieve keeps Faith in the house for at least another week, unless he follows through with his desire to exit voluntarily — a move allowed by the rules of the game.
Opinion:
Faith’s frustration is both understandable and thought-provoking. As a medical doctor, he comes into the show with a clear professional identity and career path — one that requires discipline, time, and focus. For someone with such a background, BBNaija may feel like a detour rather than a launchpad.
Yet, one cannot ignore the platform’s power. BBNaija has turned ordinary Nigerians into celebrities, entrepreneurs, and influencers overnight. What some housemates see as “wasting time” often translates into visibility, branding opportunities, and doors that would have remained closed otherwise.
Faith’s dilemma highlights a bigger question: is BBNaija for everyone? For some, it is a dream, a chance to rebrand and reposition their lives. For others, like Faith, it can feel like being trapped in an artificial world that clashes with personal ambitions and values.
Whether he stays or leaves, Faith’s honesty is refreshing. In a show that thrives on drama and strategy, his bluntness reminds us that behind the game are real people grappling with real emotions. And perhaps, that raw truth is exactly what makes BBNaija such a mirror of Nigerian society — our dreams, our doubts, and our restless search for meaning.
