FCT High Court Postpones Odumodublvck’s Assault Trial to April 2026
The trial of Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, real name Tochukwu Ojogwu, in a civil assault and battery case, has been adjourned to April 8, 2026. The case is being heard at the FCT High Court, Life Camp, Abuja.
The adjournment was due to ongoing renovations in the courtroom, preventing proceedings from taking place. Both parties’ legal representatives—Uchenna Ojembe, representing the claimant, and Taiwo Akinsulie, representing Odumodublvck—agreed on the new date to ensure the trial could commence without further disruption.
The case was filed by fellow Nigerian musician Kraziecent (Ogbogiri Okey Levi), who alleged that Odumodublvck violently assaulted him during a public event in December 2024. According to the civil suit, Kraziecent was peacefully taking pictures and videos when the rapper allegedly attacked him, causing emotional distress and damaging his iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The claimant is seeking N2 billion in damages, reimbursement for medical expenses, and a public apology to be issued across Odumodublvck’s social media platforms and in two national newspapers.
Opinion: A Case That Highlights Responsibility in the Entertainment Industry
This high-profile case underscores the importance of accountability among public figures, especially in the entertainment industry where personal actions are magnified by media coverage. While conflicts may arise in competitive or high-pressure environments, alleged physical assault is a serious matter that transcends celebrity status.
The delay caused by the courtroom renovation may frustrate fans and the public eager for resolution, but it also ensures that the trial will proceed in a proper legal setting. Cases like this remind artists and entertainers that fame does not exempt anyone from legal responsibility.
Furthermore, the lawsuit raises an important conversation about the protection of personal rights, mental well-being, and property. The outcome of this trial could set a precedent, reinforcing that even high-profile personalities must adhere to the law and respect others’ safety.
With both parties ready for April, all eyes will be on the courtroom to see how Nigeria’s legal system navigates this high-profile clash between two musical stars.
