Kwara United Target Survival as They Face Bayelsa United in Season Finale

Kwara United Target Survival as They Face Bayelsa United in Season Finale

Kwara United FC technical adviser Ashifat Suleiman has expressed confidence ahead of their decisive final-day clash against Bayelsa United FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Harmony Boys will travel to face Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium this weekend, needing at least a point to secure their top-flight status for next season.

Suleiman explained that the team carefully rotated players in recent fixtures, including the President Federation Cup, to ensure key players are fully fit for the crucial survival battle.

He also warned that despite Bayelsa United already being relegated, the game will not be straightforward, as their opponents will be eager to end the season on a positive note in front of their home fans.

“We are fully motivated toward achieving our goal in the game,” Suleiman said.

Opinion

Relegation battles often carry more pressure than title races because the consequences are immediate and costly. Kwara United’s situation is a clear example of how a single match can define an entire season.

Their decision to rest key players ahead of this fixture suggests careful planning, but it also adds pressure on those selected to deliver when it matters most. In games like this, motivation and composure often matter more than tactical quality alone.

Even against a relegated side like Bayelsa United, survival is never guaranteed. Kwara United will need focus, discipline, and mental strength to ensure they finish the season safely in the top flight.
